Hi all,
I got the latest Flugzeug Classic today and in it there was a very interesting article about the ongoing restoration/reconstruction of the Kondor recovered from Norway some years ago.
They hope to have the wings complete with undercarriage, propellers, engines, flaps etc finished by 2007. After that they will start on the fuselage. Also it seems that the cockpit has been located in the fjord where it had lain at the bottom after the airframe broke off on recovery. Also negotiations are underway with Norway to acquire some Kondor outerwings from another wreck that is suppesedly in better condition. By the look of the recovered wreckage the wings etc are lookign more like swiss cheese, but they are sure that the project will result in the worlds only restored Fw 200 Kondor. This is a project that is getting more and more interesting.
Keep it up!
Cees
