Hopefully I can get this part right!!

This TBM was originally registered as N7410C when it was owned by John Stokes. When Howard Pardue bought it, the registration was changed to NL88HP. The "L" is because of being in the limited category and the "HP" is for Howard Pardue. I don't know how many owners the airplane went through between Howard and the current owner but it seems at some point that the L was dropped. That must be due to a change in regulations. Now I am assuming the Mr. Duffy wanted to personalize the registration number by changing it to NL88TD. But, that number was assigned to a Taylorcraft in Michigan in 1986. So, in order to have a number with his initials in it; Mr. Duffy just added a 1 to the number he wanted. That would explain how it went from NL88HP to NL188TD. Exactly what year this happened, I don't really know. But it must have been around the 99-2000 time frame.
