Hi Eric--

: We can dream about next year but lets hope the aircraft ar

Yep, particularly the first bit. (Caution and enthusiasm are uncommonly found side-by-each in the same person, which is what makes me nervous).

: I know if I had the money I would follow the same path and
: would be the new guy on the block. We have to promote new
: pilots and collectors but also keep a watchful eye on the
: m as well.

Empathetic tightrope-walking, eh...

: Can't wait to see them in Ontario airspace!! The last time

Boy how I remember that. First test flight (1988; September 11, ironically enough) was on a glum, claggy day, with just a few people on hand to see it (including me), but what a feeling of triumph to see that silhouette rise above the treeline to the song of four synchronized Merlins. On the other hand, the public "first flight" (9/24/88) had it all, including the Spit (Robertson's) and Hurricane, visiting CF stuff, utterly gorgeous weather...and a crowd ten times the size CWH expected (heh...I could've told them they'd get a monster crowd!), with cars backed up down Hwy#6 into Hamilton and what seemed like a quarter of the city trying to get in. Except for the masses forced to watch from a distance, that day went splendidly: and I have always viewed September 24, 1988, as the zenith of CWH. Fond memories.
