Hi John,
Pretty good and accurate post!!
Something else we should all think about......many years ago, just before a mutual friend of ours let me fly his Mustang for the first time, he gave me a little lecture and told me that "the most dangerous thing in the sky is a pilot trying to impress other pilots. There is absolutely nothing that you can do with that thing that hasn't already been done by someone else, including stick it in the ground nose first, so don't waste your time trying to impress anyone!" I think about that every time I fly and I am still alive after all these years!
If you think about it the majority of the Warbird accidents can be linked to the Pilot trying to impress another Pilot or Pilots, or the people on the ground.(Occasionally sheer stupidity does the trick too) Without the audience there wuold be far fewer accidents!
Glenn
