Hi all,
Last saturday we spent the day searching for the location where an intruder Mosquito crashed in the IJsselmeer. The
location was finally found, a full investigation will be
carried out during the early months of 2002.
The pilot of the Mossie was the son of Arthur Whitten-Brown of Atlantic Crossing 1919-fame. During the late seventies a propeller was brought up by the anchor of a sailing boat and fishermen bring up 20-mm rounds in their nets regularly.
We also have leads that in the same area there should be another Mossie as well as a Messerschmitt 110 nightfighter. Looks like we are going to have a busy summer next year.
Cheers
Cees
