Wow, You guys were nicer to guy that was calling him names.
I'm not making judgements or saying it's true in this case.
But, it is a fact that when you get old (and we'll all hopefully get very old)your thought processes and reflexes
are dimished. Remember a 3rd class medical is good for 2 years, and a lot can happen in 2 years. Remember the CAF A-20 crashed few years back because the 79 year old pilot (with a valid medical) had a heart attack during their big airshow. As for balls, mine are only average. But, they're lasted me through 4 cruises working the flight deack of 3 different carriers and 2 squadron tours as a P-3 ordy including a engine fire at night over Bearing Sea in February.
