A good question, and one I have pondered for a while. The ship I wanted was the one sank on the way to England with a Dozen Mustang I's aboard! Many many crated aircraft were lost at sea, so they are out there...but what are they worth?

Looking thru Trade a Plane you will find project aircraft of the fighter type for 300K or so, P-47 to 500K to 1M for Mustang projects. Until the prices get much higher it will simply be cheaper to just buy what you want as diving for these things would be very expensive! The question too is that weather or not the preservative will help or hinder your efforts to stop corrosion as the aircraft comes out. It has been soaked for years under great pressure.
