Hello again,
I have been browsing backwards reading various past discussions and came upon the report of a B-32 deep sea find. This inspired me to write of a possible source that I have pondered for years. When planes were shipped by sea during the war, they were usually cocooned and the engines were inhibited with oil, sometimes they were also crated.I wonder what shape an airframe that was wrapped and/or boxed like this would be in. The fact that they are at great depth where it's been proven that the lack of oxygen helps to reduce deterioration is another consideration.many ships running to England and to the U.S.S.R. were sunk at great depth.I realize that the expense would be great but then so would be the potential Reward.I'll bet that they would be in amazing condition.Any one agree?
