Visit to Brussels

Hi all,

Just got back from a week's holiday. However, during a day's visit to Brussels I managed to visit the Army Museum there where (as you know) some very interesting aircraft are on display.

The Battle was still under restoration and was actively worked on during our visit and this gave me the opportunity to see inside the airframe which is quite bare. The Mossie is also still under restoration. The Blenheim looked great in its RAF-colours but with its Canadian serial on the tail. The Hurricane was impressive as well and the Spitfire IX looked very authentic albeit a bit tired. In all nooks and crannies there were interesting bits and pieces lying about most of which are listed on Mikaels site. Didn't know they had a complete BMW801 with cowlings as well as a JUMO 211 power unit. Same goes fot a complete FN5 noseturret from a Lancaster, couldn't find the Whitley tail turret they also should have somewhere.
Although I only had about an hour before the museum closed I will definetly return.

Cheers

Cees
