It doesn't grow.
My wife's grandfather flew as radio operator in airships and seaplanes. Her father flew with the Italian navy and Alitalia. I have always had aviation-related jobs.
But all she recognizes are Tiger Moths (at least since I had an accident in one), Grumman Trackers and 747s (which her father flew).
At least she lets me play with airplanes ... most of the time!
