I am not a pilot nor am I a lancaster pilot. However I have 12 years experience restoring a lancaster bomber and our team treat our aircraft carefully. Sure ok Maybe they were doing the cross wind correct but from our vantage point it looked like it was runnning away from them. A pilot friend mentioned that if that had been him he would have gone round again.
Merlins .. let see. I do know that during warm up that you run the engines at 1500 rpm to test for magdrop. While taxiing you leave the inner engines at idle and use small corrective bursts of power on the outers to turn. There was no means a small burst(s) of power used while it was exiting the taxiway at london airport as it only had a short run off the runway to the ramp.
