Peter,
I have never been lucky enough to fly a Lancaster, but I hope I get the chance sometime. You are obviously an experienced Lancaster pilot so I hope you will indulge me. How many hours do you have in Lancasters? How many crosswind landings have you made in one recently? Exactly how many perfect landings have you made in one. Remember, if it bounces, gets up on one wheel or the spectators can hear the tires chirp on the pavement, it doesn't count as perfect. You seem to know exactly how this particular plane should be operated, so I figured you might be the one to ask.
Also, if you have time, could you please write an essay on exactly what these aircraft represent? If you could, please include exact operating procedures for Merlin engines, with particular emphasis on the power settings for the taxi run. This is really important, the crew of this plane obviously doesn't know any of this stuff. It's up to us to save the plane!!
