: The girlfriend was driving on I-30 east of Little Rock, Ar
: kansas about ten minutes ago and pulled up beside a couple
: of grey haired gentlemen in a Ford F-150 pulling an I-16
: on a trailer. It was green with the appropriate red star
: on the fuselage and tail, and was sporting a "White 45" on
: the fuselage. Any ide who this plane belongs to, and why
: it's on a trailer rather than airborne? I figure it's go
: t to be Gerry Yagen or the CAF. I couldn't recall any oth
: er Rata owners in the USA.
Yes, that's the CAF I-16 bound for Oshkosh.
My memory is a little weak concerning the articles I've read about flying the I-16 but I seem to remember that the Rata's fuel tank allows for less than one hour of flight time. That would be a lot of fuel stops between Texas and Wisconsin!! Dennis
