Theft is not an endorseable position.
Law is law. Sovereign nations are able to do what they like.
Have you ever been there? Do you know the position first hand? Or do you just get it from magazines and the net.
And please refrain from bad language, its unbecoming an Englishman.
: What complete bullsh*t.
:
: Anything that remains in PNG will be scrapped or will turn
: to dust. It is quite obvious that no real efforts are be
: ing made to "protect their wartime heritage". Blaming the
: demise of the PNG Museum's relics on these fellows is jus
: t a distraction. A simple lack of care (and resources to
: be fair) and lack of Government action is endangering even
: the airframes that are supposed to be "safe".
:
: Blocking the export of material is hailed as a great victo
: ry yet the same material soon gets shipped off to the smel
: ter or sits on a dockside getting vandalised.
:
: It may be illegal but I wish these folk good luck in what
: is a very risky and personally dangerous undertaking. At
: least a few of these historic aircraft will survive the cu
: rrent wave of scrappings (which will continue, smugglers o
: r not).
:
: I do know that in 10 or 20 years time we will look back wi
: th regret on this current window of opportunity.
:
: Flame away.
