I'm back from Geneseo

I left Geneseo at 6pm Sunday. Even though the weather hampered the show since Friday morning they still held a good event. I arrived Friday around 9am and by then they started getting calls from pilots that were not going to make it. The troopers at the Great War Flying Museum fought the elemnts to fly down and came in during the afternoon. One pilot flew in from Calgary just to be there. As well one of the crew from the Red Tail P-51 flew in even though they did not hire the P-51C. He had such a great time the past two years he came back just for the fun. Saturday the wind was strong and very cloudy but the action never stopped from 10:30 until 4pm. I have no idea how they stretched the aircraft they had but the show never stopped. Miss Marilyn II was there and looked great. Bob Baranaskas's Glamorous Girl looked great with the correct markings. He said he was tired of hearing from everyone that the aircraft was not painted in the proper markings. Sunday was great, sunny and very little wind. Most of the aircraft stayed and it made up for the past two days. I managed to get airborne twice during the day but it was a dissapointing year for air-to-air work at Geneseo. By the time I left there was only the "Belle" left on the field. Larry Kelly flew Panchito and made a very nice pass. He handled the aircraft very well during our photoshoot and was one of the hits of the show. He even did a melon drop this morning after a photoflight. The folks at Geneseo are amazing and even a bad year is a whole lot of fun. The numbers are not in yet but the crowds and line-ups indicated they had a very good year despite the weather. I should have photos posted by Thursday.
