: Well... first of all folks, international law (Hague Accords) are clear about "ownership" of servicemen's remains interred on foreign soil, whether in a marked or accidental grave. They are interned citizens of their nation of citizenship, period. There are 17 British Commonwealth servicemen from WW II listed in this status in Maine, including these two pilots. 11 of them are in "proper American graves" and the rest at sea or on land not recovered.

While it seems to be the American thing to do to bring remains "home", it is very unBritish. Each serviceman, including these two, have a memorial marker in a miltary plot in addition to their proper and adequate unmarked grave under water.

"They shall not grow old" and didn't. Let them rest in piece. You can make your bucks off some other wreck.
