There is still planes to be found if you know where to look
There is substantial? remains of Lancaster FM108 near Quebec... Alan Girard knows more and has recovered some parts from it. There is supposedly a dismantled lancaster in a shed or barn and rumors of this persist through the last 10 years or so that I have been involved with lancasters.
The museum in Brandon Manitoba has large wing section from Lancaster Fm118 and some tail parts in storage...
Nanton lancaster museum has the shattered remains of the cockpit and a small rear fuselage section from FM118 but the cockpit is slated for export to Bernie salter one day...
The lancaster in the lake is no more. Eyewitness accounts a couple of years ago stated that the ice claimed her after all of these years and rolled her up into a ball and the crushed remains sank to the bottem of the lake.
The Lincoln bomber in Watson lake would be an interesting recovery due to its location and the limited acess by roads..
Bristol Bolingbroke... There are still many of these medium bombers around on farms especially in the praires..
Some avro ansons can be found on various farms and locations...
I do think that there is no chance of finding a complete aircraft such as a Lancaster sitting in someones field though...
