I've asked on this a couple of times now, but no one seems to know how to proceed. My guess is that metal detectors are too limited in depth (and no good for non ferrous aluminium, although where there's airframe, there should be some ferrous items) and that ground radar is probably required or something that 10-15 ft deep. I feel a google coming on. Will let you know how I get on.
