Well fair enough Ed, but based on that "heritage" are you willing to pay a percentage to restore, rebuild the aircraft in question? or for that matter contribute to their rebuild in hours?
Bottom line is most of us are not, and we have absolutely NO say in where or who they go to. Money talks.
I think the aircraft would be far better off being sold to any individual or group with the money and the motivation to get it in the air. TFC is under no obligation to provide us, the interested observers with any justification or explanation as to why or where the aircraft may be going.
However, once this transaction has taken place I am sure we will read about it in Flypast or Aeroplane.
I don`t think it makes a bit of difference, whether it ends up in the UK, USA, Canada, Aus, etc, etc, with video, magazines, and internet we are completely connected with what is happenning anyway, and can follow projects in real time, so it`s eventual location is really secondary.
As to heritage, well, they flew in most theatres, and were built in the UK, Canada, and perhaps elsewhere, so again they have many global ties.
It serves no purpose trying to be protectionist these days, as the market for such an aircraft is so limited, one can not afford to exclude any interested party no matter where they may be located.
I realise you are not suggesting it should have to remain in the UK, just saying you feel a right to know where it may go, but as merely interested observers, we have no rights whatsoever.
