Routing through some old photos..... RB396/W

Routing though a box of old old photos, non Spitfire and all of 25 years old, I have a shot to hand of a rear fuselage hanging in the roof of a building. Still sporting original faded RAF livery, the serial appears to be RB396 and the individual code letter is W. This looks like a Typhoon to me and although there is nothing on the reverse I seem to think there was a Dutch connection here.
Who can tell us more?
