Cees,
I have no connection with YAM but I seem to recall from visits over the years that the wings you refer to are Hastings outer mainplanes. YAM acquired another pair (better condition presumably) from a scrapyard and the original ones are now "spare".
Regards!
Alan
:...one of your photo's show a pair of outer wings on a Que
: en Mary trailer. These look very similar to the outer wing
: s fitted to "Friday". But what puzzles me is that she has
: the outer wings fitted too, so what is going on here.
:
: I once mentioned that the outer wings of her were sagging
: almost to the horizontal instead of a marked dihedral as t
: ypical for the Halifax. Ian Foster told me that the outer
: wings had severe corrosion.
:
: So, does this mean that the wings have been changed or are
: about to be changed. In that case Tony I do have another
: question:
:
: Were they working on here when you visited Elvington?\
:
: Cheers
