First of all, thanks to all who are trying to track down the Capannelle Mustang. I am holding my breath.

The table posted on the French site is sobering in terms of accident-related losses, but taken at face value can be very misleading: the obvious example is that a number of the exported Spits were originally brought in from India or Israel (e.g., Spit MJ730, brought in by Lamplough, sold to Fred Smith in the USA, brought back by ? and now in the US with Jerry Yagen; or the Actis Spit, brought in from India, flown in Italy and UK, now in the US: whose gain, whose loss?); other exports were rebuilt to such an extent that they constitute a net addition to the extant population. The same can be said about Hurris, Sea Furies, Mustangs and so on. Anyone feel like working on an adjusted table ... and then spark a debate as to what should or should not be counted?

Just my two cents.

Gregory
