Back in the late 1960's, a Southend based operation, possibly Aviation Traders, had big plans to make an executive jet transport using the abundance of available surplus DH Vampire T.11 airframes. The two seat wooden pod was to be replaced with, from memory, a six place pod. One might imagine that some extension to the tail booms would be required to keep the thing in balance. At that time they were happy to show me the mock up. Some years previously they had similar plans for a multi-seat conversion to the Percival Prentice RAF trainer and acquired and registered a whole bunch of them that littered the airport. I had a brief ride in one and I think we had a least four passengers 'stowed' behind the pilot/pupil seats.
