Chino airport. They had a "compound" on the southwest corner of the ramp (where Yanks is now). The compound was a bunch of trailers or containers with a tent over the top where the actual construction was taking place. They were making a new fuselage and planned to utilize an axial flow engine in the back. It looked really nose heavy to me since the booms weren't extended (might need a tungsten horizontal stab to balance), but maybe it was never intended to actually fly? :-) There seemed to be a number of projects like this (intended to only collect investors) in that time period. Come to think of it, those type of operations are still around- the AASI turboprop project (now up for auction) from Long Beach airport comes to mind...
