Hi Jim-

I will have to respectively disagree with you about younger owners picking up the ball of owning warbirds. I know a lot of under forty guys (myself included) who are buying, restoring and flying warbirds. I think one of the reasons you don't see more is a simple economic factor. Those that are older have had more time to accumulate wealth. I am confident as the younger generation accumulates wealth they will be there to buy the more expensive warbirds as the other older generation stops flying. On my airport alone there are three T-6 owners younger than forty-five. We all would love to have fighters, but its all about economics. Someday we probably will, but it will take time to accumluate the assets to support such a project. I do know of a pretty young guy restoring a Mustang, as well as a number of others.

Cheers!
