On a related note Tony, we are establishing a museum at Boscombe Down. It has been featured in Flypast. It is housed in a Hardened Aircraft Shelter (HAS)and several outbuildings. There are displays on the Battle of Britain and Boscombe's role. Flight Test at the airfield since 1912, a huge model display, I keep four cockpits there (Hunter F6, Hunter F1, Pucara & Swift F7. We have further cockpits from BAC111, Harrier, Jaguar, Hawk, Hunter T7, Andover, Sea Hawk. As well as complete Hunter F6, T8, Phantom, Mig21, Wasp aircraft and an Alpha Jet Sim. I am bound to have missed something out. We hope to be open to the public soon. At the moment we are only open one day a year and to groups by arrangement. Boscombe Down saw many firsts including first flights....when you are bored, name all the aircraft types that first flew from Boscombe Down and of course the only Fighter Command pilot to be awarded a Victoria Cross in the Battle of Britain (and the rest of WW2) won it flying form Boscombe.

Forgive me for the advert please!!

Tony
