P-38's and razorback P-47's

Hi there... just heard from a friend of mine about those two P-38's which were recovered from PNG a couple of years ago now. Apparently, there was also a third P-38 which got stopped on the docks after the other two left. They are in California at the moment, and it seems pretty certain that they are for Paul Allen's collection, as the person whom has them has one of his non-disclosure clauses... not for certain, but this usually points in only one direction, Paul Allen! One thing for sure is that both are expected to be restored, as the restorer was looking for 4 Allisons.

Also of note, there were three razorback P-47's recovered at the same time. Apparently they had been buried at a dump in PNG and were recovered. The same restorer is supposed to be handling these as well... and you guessed it, they want 3 R-2800's for the restorations....

Should be some interesting things coming to fruition in a couple of years. Only thing is that I hope that the public eventually gets to enjoy them too. Oh well, same old same old... whomever has the toys can do with them as they will!

Cheers,
Richard
