Much of the fuselage was still in intact when a friend of mine visited it in 1984. I was sent pictures of it about ten years ago...Some fuselage panels were removed by locals. The nose could not be found. No doubt it is still there.
Warbirds Worldwide were obviously incorrect in their three directories stating it was "recovered in 1974", which is repeated everytime someone uses that guide and republishes the info somewhere. I've since corresponded with Geoff Goodall to have that removed in further editions if they ever do come out. I did try to get it removed for the third edition but my pleas fell on deaf ears.
