I recently purchased Lancaster Squadrons in Focus and can recommend it to any modellors out there.
However, while reading it, several questions raised their heads...
1. One picture is captioned "note the missing tail wheel, a flat tyre perhaps?"
I thought that the tail wheels were solid! Is this right?
2. A couple of months ago, Cees raised the matter of reverse engineering Lancaster into a Manchester. I don't suggest such a drastic change, but could an existing airframe be modified to carried Hercules engines, turning that airframe into a representation of a Mk11 Lanc and would there be any call for such a representation.
3. Teccie question now, some Lancaster engines were equipped with "needle" blade propellors while others had the "broad" blade propellors. What is the difference between the two types of blade.
Thanks in advance
Tony
