There are currently two F4U-5's and an F4U-4 (still for sale last I heard) flying in France. Rumor has it that number will be increasing in the years to come.
One of the F4U-5's as you mentioned was basically converted to F4U-7 standards - at least cosmetically. Oddly, it was finished in the colors of F4U-7 BuNo.133704, while the REAL 133704 remains on static display at the USS Alabama finished in AU-1 colors :) They should have worked out as swap before the restoration process was begun!
