Peter,
Thanks for the background on the rebuild. I thought that Doug Arnold had done this mod based on an old Air Classics article stating that he was planning on converting some of his late model Spitfires into earlier models and we all know that the high back XVI looks exactly like a IX.
If you will e-mail me I can send you a picture I took of BR601. I also have several shots of TE392 from this weekend. If you are interested of course.
