....but isn't it strange then that the B-17E "My Gal Sal" ,also recovered from Greenland during the mid eighties, was still lying on top of the ice as opposed as to the Lost Squadron which had 260 feet of ice on top of it..
Anyway, the bottom line is that with the rising prices of these warbirds there will be a day that recovering the other five P-38's and perhaps the B-17's (for spares) will be economical. Personally I cannot wait. These stories are what we are dreaming about.

No Swedish Spitfire XIX's (or other aircraft for that matter) lying onder metres of snow somewhere?
