Christer - Spitfire response from 24 October

Christer,
You asked about the cost of of some of the principal assemblies on the Spitfire.
The propeller assembly fully certified with new blades, bearings etc would be in the region of ?100,000.
A Merlin engine fully overhauled to zero time from the USA would be in the region of $100,000 USD.
A Merlin engine ditto overhauled in the UK could be in excess of ?120,000.
All new Sheet metal assemblies, Fuselage, Wings, Tail group etc including structural machinings. In the region of ?500,000
