I thought I had heard a couple of years back that some outfit in the UK was, in fact, planning to do just that. I am mistaken in this?
I agree with the comments about the market though. The main market is the US, and most US buyers would be less interested in Spitfires. On the other hand, the combined buying power of all the countries that used the Spitfire would surely add up to a few people with enough money and interest to buy one. I know I would!! (assuming my lottery numbers come up!)
