this is a very good suggestion, and I too wonder why not, with airframe assemblies, hull aero, and quite a few others able to produce entire sets of new sheet metal, why is no one producing say a kit, or just formers, ribs, spars, longerons and say extrusions. Sure you can buy these separately, but they are all considered "spitfire" parts, and cost accordingly, a sheet metal bulkhead should not become worth more because of what it is intended for.
I really think there is a number of people who are very interested in the actual aircraft, less so in the history, and for this reason the new build a/c is more desireable,
I really think the fellow that brings out a reasonable cost assembly kit for the Spitfire, and it could be MK1-MK 24, will sell a number, not like RV4`s!! but maybe 10-15.
