It's virtually 10 years now since Doug's passing. Flying A Services were looking to aquire an airfield in the UK to display their collection, however a suitable location has not been found. The Spitfires SM969 & NH238 are still in containers RW386 was looked at some time ago with a view to completing the restoration but as yet nothing has happened. The rest of the collection is also still in containers.
The Lelystad airframes all returned to the UK in 1996 these were Wildcat N909WJ, Bearcat N800H and Corsair N179PT. The Bearcat went to Duxford to be operated by TFC until it was sold to the US, and the Wildcat and Corsair went to Hawker Restorations at Earls Colne before settling at North Weald. The Corsair has since returned to the US, and the Wildcat has recently been offered for sale.
