I didn't find the article in the Herald, but I believe you Cees.

Let's do the only sensible thing, since we must act fast to eradicate this threat to mankind. Lets scrap every a/c older than say 30 years. With our combined knowledge on WIX we should be able to list and locate most of the known preserved aircraft and quite many wrecks too to assist the authorities in this struggle for humanity.

Of course I'd also be able to close down my website to since there would be nothilng left to list, and thus save me some valuble time to use for other things.

On a more serious note:
Isn't it possible that the background radiation in our houses could actually be higher than the contamination from the instruments? It's not the first time "warnings" like this have been publicised, and then put into "relation" to something else we live with daily - and then it turns out to be not to bad

Of course if there is a serious contamination problem, then the historic aviation comunity would have to deal with it. What is the opinion of the major aviation organisations? EAA for example? I guess a scientific investigation would be of benefit, either to dissaprove these allegations, or to find ways to deal with them in a constructive way.
