This was discussed on f/p board awhile back.
Unless you have racks upon racks of vintage instruments stored in one area with only one door and you spend hours in there at a time, the threat from radiation is minimal. The main thing to watch for is for any guages you pick up/buy etc that have broken or no glass fitted. We had our collection and aircraft tested and all were given the ok the only problem was some guages that had cracked or broken/missing glass and these were removed from storagesealed in plastic bags and stored in a suitably marked box.
