Yep...that makes sense, especially since a number of Battles (one of which is preserved at Rockcliffe) were fitted with rear turrets in a Defiant-style aft-cockpit position. Still...one never knows, does one! This posting certainly caught my attention.

Absolutely staggering. An updated reprint of that volume would sell terrifically well, and it amazes me that no one in a position to do something with it sees the obvious!

BTW in a similar vein, the Shearwater Aviation Museum recently had the Leo Pettipas series on RCN aircraft reprinted (with Cerlox bindings that allow the page to stay open where one wants it to!); thought it might be of interest.
