Hi all,
Have just been sorting my photo albums out and have a few questions.
When I visited Elvington a few years ago, I took a picture of a Mosquito which bore the legend "The Spirit of Val". Sorry, don't know the s/n but I remember having a conversation with one of the museum staff who claimed that she was being rebuilt to fly. Now in the Aeroplane Monthly Airshow & Museum guide for 2002, the Mosquito is not listed (nor does the Halifax appear). Is she still there and will she fly again?
Can anybody confirm if the Hurricane, on display at Cosford (LF738), is in fact a genuine aircraft.
I ask as the radiator grill, inside the intake appears to be fake. Also the undercarriage legs and doors, do not look to be be the real thing.
What happening with the CASA 2111 (or is it a Heinkel) held at Duxford by the IWM. If it is ever rebuilt, will Jumo or Merlin engines be used?
Thanks in anticipation,
Tony
