I was there during the PFA Rally at Cranfield that weekend and saw the Connie take off for her trip to Duxford. I guess it was planned to do a flyby and then return to Cranfield. During the entire weekend she was making these short flights and then return (cost saving?).
When she was static I went to have a look inside, but she was almost bare inside. Although a commercial transport she still is a beautiful aircraft. There are rumours here that somewhere around Amsterdam part of the fuselage of an ex-KLM machine is in use in a community garden.
