Paul - I think the Turkish would like a Spitfire IX but the reality of it is that restored and in airworthy condition a Spit IX would probably command close to ?1 million.
If you swapped it for instance for the PZL I would put a value on it at ?100-200 thousand. Then you swap again for a 'Camel' for instance which although totally original will need a complete rebuild you have something that is very nice but can you risk flying it??
These WW1 aircraft are very nice but the reality is that the risk of flying any is immense so they are likely to remain as a 'static'.
No museum that I can think of is likely to be paying large sums of money for WW1 aircraft when you can do a deal like the IWM and receive a Liberator in excahnge for a Spit.
