My 2c worth (about 1 US c at current rates...)

Assertion: Nose art of a bare breasted cartoon figure on a WWII bomber is "a gateway to further degradation of morality leading to deviant behavior".

Really? I mean, REALLY? Viewing this magnificent example of a tiny but historically significant genre is going to lead people into deviant behaviour? What, like flying? Or restoring aircraft? Or worse yet, remembering that the the kids who flew these aircraft into battle (and died for their country and the cause of freedom) were just that, kids??

Have these people ever seen even a *tiny* portion of what is freely available on the Internet, or on your local drug store magazine rack? Or on television after 8:30 at night?

There are so many more obvious, insidious, and in some cases downright nasty targets worthy of these people's close attention - the only conclusion I can come to is that if historically accurate and significant examples of nose art trigger their radar, then their "sensitivity" dial is set WAYYYYYYY off the scale.

I would be *totally* comfortable to show my son, daughter and wife the noseart shown, and would welcome the opportunity to explain what noseart meant, and why it was important. In fact, I would love to be able to do so! How about bringing her over to NZ for Warbirds Over Wanaka in Easter 2004?? No painted bikini required, either!
