Yes, from the perspective of the warbird enthusiast, unbelievable. Although I can't claim to have anything resembling intimate knowledge concerning the MoD, here in the states we (warbird folks interested in keeping them flying)have our own frustrations with the US Navy. Their policies regarding the recovery and restoration of aircraft appear, at times, absolutely anal. Unless...

You examine the policies from the perspective of liability. I'd be interested in hearing from others on this board who feel that, underneath all the red tape and rhetoric, liability (or actually, the desire to avoid it) is what really lies at the foundation of most government policies concerning recovery and restoration by the private sector.

I'm starting to dribble at the mouth now...time for my medication...
