Andy, your initial posting definitely offended any German visitor to the board and put people like myself (who has been living in Germany for 13 years, something which makes you more acquainted with Germany and the people there than merely "... having worked with German's...") at unease. I was just about to have a go at you, but I for one accept your apology.

Could someone enlighten me on the following aspects, please:

1) That RF-4 exhange deal should that possibly have read MiG-29 (the Polish Air Force will be getting Luftwaffe MiG-29s when the Eurofighter is delivered)? Find it a bit difficult to believe that MoD officials on both sides had their eyes on a single museum aircraft when negotiating this deal.

2) Just exactly when and where did the Germany governement claim a WW2 artefact - AND enforce that claim? Funnily enough, the NASM Do 335 which was restored in Germany and exhibited there for a while returned to the US in one piece.
