Collings Yak

I'm finding this recent acquisition to be very interesting. Maybe "puzzling" is more of the right word. The Collings Foundation has always been a patriotic group restoring/flying America's finest warbirds: B-17, B-24, B-25, A-26, Corsair, TBM with a Mustang coming in the future. And now a Yak-3??? It just seems out of character with the rest of the collection (even though I understand it's a donation). Just an curious observation.
