Hi guys

I don't ahve too much experience with the USN but I made some enquiries about the F4U in the Palau group about two years ago. I had the agreement of the local government, pending approval from the US Navy - unfortunately their terms were too unreasonable i.e. you can go to the expense of recovering it etc and spend x amount on it but it still remains 'our' property!

Frustrating as this 'protected wreck' is being ripped apart and has deteriorated a lot, even in the past 20 years.

Surely if they stipped it and then chucked it in a lake this is a clear case of abandonment?

Good luck
