I got in contact with Victor the other day as I am trying to trace the recovered engines and airframes in Scotland, and also the fate of P6994!!. He is in his 80s and he flew in Halifaxes for part of the war. He has a close association with Yorkshire Museum. He couldn't remember any of the details about the recovery or the name of the ship that took the Whirlwind to the States and unfortunately he gave all his research notes away (the Yorkshire Musuem). The condition of that is no-one sees them until after he dies!!! Anyone know of any complete Typhoons in the channel? Have crossed a few off my list....Bradwell bay for one. Dragged up in the early 70s (complete) and scrapped!!!
