I think it is very important that continuity is maintained in warbirds flying, and that it should extend beyond aircraft of the WW2 period. Their preservation is also very important. Two of the most interesting aircraft types to appear on the European air show circuit in the later years are a North American OV-10 Bronco (an ex-Luftwaffe target tug based in France; two more of them are in England and are flyable as well) and two Dornier-built Alpha Jets based in Salzburg in Austria. The Bronco often attends small displays at grass fields and never ceases to amaze crowds, particularly with its short landing characteristics. I am personally looking forward to more trainers being available on the civilian market, such as TB-30 Epsilon (will be a while though), Saab T-17 Supporter, Saab 105, etc.
