SPITFIRE PROJECT FOR SALE, OPEN TO SERIOUS OFFERS. ?
AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE SALE!! SUPERMARINE SPITFIRE MKIV,
1943, S/N: PT879, G-BYDE, (Project) Saunders Aircraft cc are pleased to offer on
behalf of their client Angie Soper a superb opportunity for the astute buyer the purchase of a very historical
Spitfire project being an Mk IX type. This aircraft is believed to be the only lend lease Russian Spitfire in known
existence. Its serial number is PT879 you may find the history in IWM, Hendon, it was recorded as going to
Murmansk aboard SS256 on the 29th June 1944. This aircraft has a creditable wartime history and would be the
basis of a truly unique project with the end result being that the aircraft could legitimately carry Russian stars. Part
of the Russian star can be seen on the port side of the fuselage, these were applied over the top of the UK
markings. Also with the project are new wing spars tubes (unassembled), fuselage pressed frames and a set of
longerons, all new with release notes available from Airframe Assemblies Ltd. The aircraft is currently stored in
the UK and has a British registration being G-BYDE. Please note to gain UK registration proven history is a
requirement. Please see the attached picture of the aircraft, which give a dramatic appearance of the project but
be assured the same effort will apply to a more complete example. The Release note and the British registration
